i love sir patrick stewart more with each passing day.
See, guys. This is how you do it. Notice the words “Not all men are like that” are never spoken.
I get this completely irrational and projected feeling that Patrick Stewart figured something out when he was 65 that he needed to figure out his whole life and that made him finally able to be happy and it makes me so happy to see him happy I just want to cuddle the idea of his happiness.
I’m considering contacting him again regarding his support of Autism Speaks.
Especially given the Twitter campaign this coming Monday.
If you do, and are up to it, do give suggestions on how to follow suit and support you in it. I tend to get fried trying to write to strangers, but would happily back you up.
Last time I contacted him, his followers called me a troll because I contacted the other members of Star Trek who had lent their support in a specific campaign. So apparently if you contact more than one person on Twitter with the same message, you’re a troll? Uh ok. Anyway, I will definitely write up a template for messaging celebrities, either via email or Twitter. There’s a list of corporate sponsors and a list of celebrities that I just reblogged, so hopefully that will help.
He wasn’t listed among the celebrities who did this year’s “sound off” promotion, only as someone who participated last year. So perhaps he no longer supports them?
Some things I’ve learned in the CBT clinics I’ve been going to regarding anxiety that I thought might be helpful to some.
for real though. i have tried so hard to explain these things to people. jfc.
fun little thing to tack on: triggers ARE NOT things that make you uncomfortable or uneasy, they are material that lead to visceral reactions/flash backs/panic attacks due to previous traumas
they aren’t even phobias
they are related to ptsd, not general discomfort or fear

Gender and Autism: A Preliminary Survey Post
I’ve been planning to write about gender and autism for a while now. Months ago, I wrote a personal…
I’ll listen to just about anything except classical music, which makes me weirdly nervous. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Springsteen, Lucius, K-pop, Nirvana, White Stripes, Girly Man, Mumford & Sons and Patty Griffin.
